Why not take a boat trip along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal and see some of the incredible feats of engineering such as the Mile Tunnel and Foulridge Wharf, or walk one of the Tacklers Trails, one of the many Heritage Trails around the area. These trails feature fascinating famous people, as well as fine churches, and amazing industrial heritage.

Visit Bancroft Mill with its working steam engine, or follow a trail around Barnoldswick and journey through time from water power, to steam and on to jet power on the Stream & Steam Trail.

Then there are mysterious tales of witchcraft. Unearth the truth behind the legend of the Pendle Witches, and follow one of the witches trails and see for yourself where these bizarre events took place.

You can find out more about the Pendle Witches and about the fascinating heritage of Pendle at the Pendle Heritage Centre. The Centre is the family home of the famous record-breaking athlete Sir Roger Bannister and also houses a lovely art gallery.
