BRONTE WALK around Wycoller on Saturday 2nd July
This free guided walk is one of a number of walks and other events taking place to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of famous literary genius, Charlotte Bronte, in 1816. Charlotte and her sisters often visited the beautiful village of Wycoller in Pendle, and Wycoller Hall was the model for Ferndean Manor in her novel "Jane Eyre".
This walk, led by knowledgeable guide, Norman Mitchell, starts at 10am at Trawden Road Car park, Wycoller or grid reference SD926394.
Walking in the Forest of Trawden to the base of Boulsworth Hill, then east along the Bronte Way and down Wycoller Dene back to Wycoller village for a lunch stop, and a look round the village, then back to the start.
It’s 5 miles long or approx. 3.5hrs including stops.
As with all outdoor walks please dress appropriately.
All those under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult 18 or over.
