NEW Sculpture Trail at Letcliffe Park
The Pendle Sculpture Trail gets Bigger
In 2012 the Pendle Sculpture Trail was launched in Aitken Wood, Barley. In 2019 some new artwork was added to this lovely woodland site which proved so popular that Pendle Council sought to grow the trail beyond its original site.
After careful consideration, Letcliffe Park, which offers stunning views over Barnoldswick and the West Craven area, was chosen for the further development of this popular attraction. The park is run by Barnoldswick Town Council who were keen to enhance the park.
You can download both the original Pendle Sculpture Trail and the Pendle Sculpture Trail at Letcliffe Park from this website.
You can easily visit both sites in the same day and we’ve included a map to show you how.
The artists and their new pieces are:
Tilly Dagnall and Thompson Dagnall – a father and daughter sculpting duo from Preston who have made “Dancing Frogs” and “Stolen Mutton”.
Stathis Dimitriades, a classically trained ceramic sculptor whose piece, Dendrite is eye-catching.
Sally Barker has done two artworks. One is more like a quiz which will test you and your family and the other is “Cones in the Sky”.
Mary Conroy, a well-known artist from Limerick in Ireland. She has made a number of ceramic Icosahedrons that dangle from the trees.
Jack Boutet, has used slate, as well as stone, to make to an elegant tower structure.
The sculptures have been part funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development
