Nine miles as the crow flies from her home in Haworth, the famous author Charlotte Bronte was inspired by the atmospheric ruin of Wycoller Hall in Pendle. She re-named the hall Ferndean Manor and made it the place of Jane’s moving reconciliation with Rochester at the end of her world-famous novel, Jane Eyre. Another well-known author, Tracy Chevalier, who wrote "Girl With the Pearl Earring", took a walk to the atmospheric Wycoller Hall in our latest video. Watch it here....
If this has inspired you.....you can visit Wycoller Hall and also walk in the Brontes footsteps by going on the Bronte Way, or walk the shorter Bronte Circular Walk or The Ferndean Way.
