A lovely trail that takes you around the town of Barrowford which combines heritage and niche shopping. The route starts at the Pendle Heritage Centre, which dates back to the 17th century, and was home of the Bannister family, whose famous son was the first 4 minute miler, Sir Roger Bannister. Other historic buildings on the route are The White Bear, built in 1667, and visited by John Wesley in 1748, and Higherford Mill, now home to a number of artists. The route features many famous niche shops, as well as a lovely parkland playground, and option to walk on the towpath of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, the longest canal in the country.
