You are here: Things to Do > Walk of the Month
Walk of the Month this month is The Bronte Walk. Famous novelist Charlotte Bronte and her sisters often walked around Wycoller and she was inspired by Wycoller Hall which is on this route. The hall became Ferndean Manor in her book "Jane Eyre". The route is six miles, with an optional two mile extension that climbs Boulsworth Hill. The route can be started at the Trawden Arms or from Wycoller Hall in the country park itself. If you would like to know more about the Brontes in Pendle we have produced a short video about them which features international author, Tracy Chevalier. If this walk has inspired you to go on more walks in the area then you're in luck it's part of a pack of Eight Circular Walks which can be purchased from Pendle Heritage Centre.
