Bancroft Mill Engine Trust is an independent registered charity. It was formed in 1980 to preserve the industrial heritage of the last working steam mill engine in the area.
Bancroft is a working museum open to the public with free entry most Saturdays throughout the year from 11-3pm. Guided tours are normally available on Saturdays at 12pm and 2pm, there is no fixed charge for these but would ask you to make a modest donation to the Trust. Alternatively you may conduct yourselves around the site. The museum is also open and the engine in steam between 1pm and 4:30pm on many Sundays from March through to early December when tours also operate.
Special steamings for groups can be arranged, Bancroft Mill is often used as a meeting point for motoring groups on our regular steaming days and members of the general public are usually able to view the vehicles.
Open every Saturday (except Xmas and New Year) 11:00am to 3:30pm for static viewing, with free parking, free entry and guided tours.
On Steaming days the museum is open at 11:00, the engine runs from 1:00pm to 4:30pm. Weaving demonstrations, free parking, cafeteria and shop. guided tours start at 12:00noon and 2:00pm
