About
The aim is to collectively cycle Mark Beaumont’s record breaking cycle route around the world – a staggering 18,000 miles in total within 24 hours between 6pm on Friday 21st September and 6pm on Saturday 22nd September. This is all in aid of charity, so please come and join us and please spread the word to your friends and family. To cycle a few laps it will be a minimum contribution of £5 towards Pendleside Hospice which people pay on arrival. Anyone can take part (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult) People will sign up, pay £5, get on a bike with transponder and cycle round the circuit as many time as they can to help reach the 18,000 mile goal. For more details on how to register go to www.pendle.gov.uk/cycling
There is also the 12hr Cycle Challenge between the hours of 10.30pm and 10.30am where businesses can take part with a team, or people can create their own group of up to 6 riders or even attempt individually to cycle 12 hours consistently, through the night. To take part in this 12hr challenge people will need to register on Eventbrite. There is a minimum cost of £100 for business teams; £60 for a group of up to 6 riders or just £10 for an individual to bravely take up the gruelling challenge of cycling non-stop for 12 hours alone.
