See a fully operating Steam Powered Textile Mill Engine, 600 I.H.P, still running at it's original operating speed. You can really see, and feel, what a typical mill engine would have operated like at the height of the cotton industry. Get up close to this powerful machine and see it's intricate mechanism in full motion. Once the Prime Mover that powered over 1200 weaving looms.

Still housed in it's original Engine Hall, the engine is one of only a few examples left of the many thousands built when the industry was at it's peak. Now the largest fully operating Steam Powered Mill Engine left in Lancashire.

Also available to view is our hand fired centenarian Cornish boiler and also a cellar tour to view the hidden machinery.

View the static only, unique, Smith Bros. & Eastwood mill engine recovered from the nearby Bradley Mill by a local enthusiast and saved from the scrap man for future generations to enjoy.
