Witches Walks 2012 - 1st April

One of a series of walks for the 400th Anniversary of the Pendle Witch Trials

10am start. Baroccos car-park, (opposite the Restaurant), Cuckstool Lane, Fence, on the Brierfield Road, B6248.

We will make our way through Fence village, past Hoarstones, over the Rigg to Tinedale, Bull Hole, and Moss End farms, the sites of some of the witches wrong-doings, to Newchurch, to visit the village church and ‘Witches Galore’, (refreshments stop).
We return past “The Dark Hole on the side of Pendle”, and other witch associated farms, across fields to Higham village, the Pinfold, the unusually named pub, the Jailhouse and Moot Court buildings, then past the House where the first interrogations took place, before walking through fields, back to the car-park. 6 miles approx.
