The Pendle Way is a 45 mile circular walk split into eight distinct sections. These sections have treats galore awaiting for those doing the route, including famous "lairs" of the Pendle Witches in Newchurch, as well as one of the Brontes favourite spots, Wycoller, site of the "Spectral Horseman". Waterfalls, moors, ancient churches, and hills with views to die for all populate this remarkable route. Some B&Bs offer a pick-up service for the Pendle Way.
The Pendle Way covers a variety of terrain and you are likely to encounter some muddy stretches. Weather conditions can change suddenly so be prepared for all eventualities:
• Wear stout, waterproof boots • Take waterproof clothing • Carry a compass and map • Inform someone of your route • Allow plenty of time for your route • Keep dogs on a lead across farmland and under close control at all other times
